Job Description: Sterile Processing Technician
Position Overview
TLC Nursing Associates, Inc.
is seeking a
Sterile Processing Technician
for
travel assignments
in hospitals, surgical centers, and healthcare facilities. The Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for
cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and medical equipment
to ensure patient safety and compliance with infection control standards.
Responsibilities
Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize
surgical instruments, medical tools, and equipment. Perform
instrument inspection, assembly, and packaging
before sterilization. Operate
autoclaves and sterilization equipment
following proper procedures. Maintain
inventory and supply levels
of sterile equipment. Follow
infection control protocols
and regulatory standards. Collaborate with
surgical teams and healthcare staff
to ensure timely availability of sterilized instruments. Troubleshoot and report
malfunctioning equipment
or sterilization failures. Maintain accurate
sterilization records and logs
for compliance.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent;
certification in Sterile Processing (CRCST or CBSPD) preferred . Licensure/Certification: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
or
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
(preferred).
Experience: 1+ years of experience
in a hospital or surgical setting (preferred).
Skills: Knowledge of
sterilization techniques, infection control, and instrument handling . Strong
attention to detail and organizational skills .
Travel Readiness:
Willingness to relocate for
temporary travel assignments .
