The AVP, Property Risk Engineering is responsible for maintaining productivity and quality standards while fostering a positive work environment. This role involves supervising a team of Property Risk Engineers and providing support in conducting HPR Middle Market field surveys and service support. The role may include completion of both physical surveys and virtual/phone surveys, focusing on detailed assessments of operations, exposures, and control adequacy. The position aims to protect the future of the company and ensure profitability through timely delivery of industry-leading safety and risk management solutions. Responsibilities
Supervise and provide support for a team of Property risk engineers. Participate in the quality review process for reports including review of Sprinkler analysis, PML and NLEs. Conduct on-site and virtual/phone surveys to assess property risks. Perform detailed assessments of operations, exposures, and control adequacy. Summarize findings in internal reports with appropriate loss improvement recommendations. Provide support and recommendations to underwriters, policyholders, and brokers. Prepare and conduct presentations on emerging property topics. Mentor risk engineers as one of the Property Subject Matter Experts. Required Skills
Experience as a people leader. Competency with NFPA and FM data sheets. Competency with Microsoft suite tools and applications. Strong communication skills for working with underwriters, policyholders, and brokers. Solid time management skills. Ability to evaluate sprinkler system adequacy and calculate loss expectancies. Strong consultative skills and the ability to execute detailed service plans. Desired Skills
Experience with Nat Cat evaluations (primarily flood, but windstorm, hail, wildfire, etc. preferred). Strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Education/Experience
Engineering or comparable degree/experience. A minimum of 10 years of industry experience in a safety-related role; property and casualty insurance experience highly desired. Possessing relevant professional designations or certifications such as PE, CFPS, CSP or ARM is highly desirable. $153,214 - $207,290/year Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
