Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and highly organized CDL Dispatcher to coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of CDL drivers for deliveries, pickups, and hauling operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all transportation activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with DOT regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics or transportation dispatch, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule and dispatch CDL drivers for daily routes, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries. Monitor driver locations and job progress using GPS and fleet management systems. Communicate regularly with drivers to provide updates, resolve issues, and relay delivery instructions. Assign vehicles and routes based on job priority, vehicle capacity, and driver availability. Maintain accurate logs of trip sheets, fuel usage, mileage, and delivery details. Coordinate with operations, warehouse, and field teams to ensure efficient job-site deliveries. Ensure compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations, including hours of service (HOS). Handle emergency calls, delays, or route changes, adjusting schedules as needed. Track equipment and vehicle maintenance schedules in coordination with the shop team. Assist with reviewing driver time sheets, trip logs, and submitting reports to management. Maintain a positive working relationship with drivers, vendors, and internal departments.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in dispatching CDL drivers or fleet operations (construction or logistics preferred). Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety compliance. Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills. Proficient in dispatch software, GPS tracking tools, and Microsoft Office. Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in logistics a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.

Work Conditions:

Office-based with occasional field coordination May include early morning, evening, or weekend hours depending on workload
