Patient Transportation Technician

Locations: Topeka, KS Shift: First Shift (Days - Less than 12 hours per shift) (United States of America) Hours per week: 0 Exemption Status: Non-Exempt A Brief Overview: The Patient Transportation Technician are scheduled as required to meet the needs of Stormont-Vail. Technicians must interact with internal customers on a frequent basis, using tact and diplomacy while communicating clearly and accurately. Experience Qualifications: 1 year Customer service experience. Preferred Less than 1 year Direct patient care experience. Preferred Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 60 days of hire. What You Will Do: Transports patients, visitors requiring assistance, medications, specimens, blood products, films and any other item that needs to be delivered to authorized personnel. Transports all of the above utilizing beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs. Assists in lifting patients into beds delivering them to their required destination. Assists in lifting patients into the cadaver cart and delivering to the morgue room. Transports patients according to proper procedure. Maintains logs on items picked up and delivered. Maintains a clean, professional and safe work area. Maintain a neat and professional appearance. Uses own time and that of others effectively. Works as part of a team, respectful, cordial, self-motivated and adaptable to change. Communicates any problems immediately to Supervisor.
