Patient Access Representative
Addison Group is partnering with a well-regarded healthcare facility located in a scenic mountain community to hire a Patient Access Representative. This is a high-impact, patient-facing role that offers the chance to work in a fast-paced emergency department environment with an organization that values professionalism, teamwork, and service excellence. Job Description: This role is responsible for greeting patients and supporting the registration process in a hospital emergency room. The Patient Access Representative ensures accurate data entry, verifies insurance coverage, and collaborates with medical staff to provide a smooth intake experience. Flexibility is essential as weekly schedules may vary. Key Responsibilities: Greet patients, gather registration details, and confirm demographic information Enter patient information into EMR systems (EPIC) accurately and efficiently Obtain insurance cards and IDs to verify patient identity Review insurance eligibility and benefit details Collect co-payments and refer patients to financial counseling when necessary Ensure compliance with Medicare, ABNs, MSPQs, and Medical Necessity guidelines Support billing department with administrative projects as needed Handle incoming calls, voicemails, and patient inquiries promptly Maintain professionalism in a high-volume, dynamic environment Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required At least 1 year of customer service experience required (12+ years for top pay consideration) Prior healthcare or hospital experience preferred, but not required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail Bilingual skills a plus Demonstrated stability in work history (no short-term roles preferred) Additional Details: Schedule: multiple shifts options Environment: 100% on-site; located in a small mountain town setting Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs Software: EPIC (EMR system) Start Date: Minimum two weeks from offer acceptance Interview Format: On-site interview with department leadership Training: Online EPIC training plus in-person onboarding COVID-19 Vaccine: Strongly encouraged; exemptions accepted Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
