JOB SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Injection Molding Mold Setter to join our team in a fast-paced plastics manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for setting up, changing, and maintaining molds in injection molding machines to ensure quality production of plastic components. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and a solid understanding of plastic processing and mold installation. Maintains good housekeeping practices and ensures that company policies and safety rules are followed by any task assigned. Responsibilities also include any other assignments provided by the immediate Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Set up and remove molds on injection molding machines according to production schedules. Prepare machines for operation by installing necessary components, adjusting parameters, and performing startup checks. Ensure molds are installed securely and safely with proper alignment and connections (e.g., water, hydraulics, electrical). Assist in troubleshooting molding issues related to setup, materials, and machine operation. Collaborate with process technicians to fine-tune settings for optimal part quality and cycle time. Complete mold change documentation, including setup sheets and production logs. Inspect parts during start-up runs to ensure quality standards are met. Conduct basic mold maintenance such as cleaning and greasing components during setup. Operate forklifts, hoists, or cranes to transport molds and materials as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the molding area and comply with all safety Complete other job-related duties and special projects as assigned Perform any other job duties assigned
ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules Read and understand written assembly instructions Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) ISO sections about the position
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate in plastics or molding preferred. Minimum of 2 years of mold setting experience in a plastics manufacturing environment. Familiarity with a variety of injection molding machines and equipment (e.g., Engel, Arburg, Haitian, Toshiba). Strong understanding of plastic resins, mold designs, and processing techniques. Ability to read and understand technical documents, work instructions, and safety protocols. Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Comfortable working with tools and lifting up to 50 lbs.Ability to work overtime as needed Good vision (this can be accomplished with corrective lenses), central and peripheral vision in both eyes to detect objects or movement in the field of view

Working Conditions:
Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
