This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers to exceed customer expectations. The Counter Sales Representative will help drive profitable sales while also focusing on improving market share with new customers while growing existing customers' business. This role requires Team Members to be strong players that works closely with inside/outside sales, warehouse operations, and management in effort to enhance the customer experience at Cemstone Supply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers. Promote and maintain the professional image and reputation of the company. Ensure timely problem resolution and high customer satisfaction. Services and sells to commercial/contractor and retail customers by providing pricing and product information via phone, email and in person. The Counter Sales Representative position is a trusted advisor to Cemstone customers. Works closely with outside sales to process quotes and sales orders. Submits special order requests to Sourcing and informs customers once orders are received. Communicates company policies to customers which includes delivery, return, special-order, and payment policies. Solves customer concerns in a timely manner and informs Manager of any issues. Ensures the store is kept clean and organized which includes stocking and merchandising. Demonstrates the core values: Demand Safety / Expect Integrity / Drive Excellence / Embrace Collaboration / Empower Innovation All other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements: High School diploma or GED. Two+ years related experience in point of sale customer service / retail or selling contractor supply materials is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both orally and written. Read, write, speak English. Friendly and personable demeanor with customers and co-workers. Strong listening and presentation skills are required. Ability to understand the customer and properly read the situation during communication to meet customer requests/expectations. Prioritizes and plans work activities. Uses time efficiently. Sets goals and objectives. Provides follow-up and feedback to both internal and external customers. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Understands pricing concepts such as gross margin percentage. Understands square footage and lineal footage. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Office software, Spreadsheet software, and Word software. Ability to work efficiently within computer programs while the customer is waiting to be serviced via phone or in-person. Must have a valid driver's license.
