AECOM is actively seeking a SUE Field Supervisor to be responsible for managing day to day operations of multiple SUE field crews. AECOM offers a comprehensive suite of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), private utility locating, and related services to our diverse customer base comprised of Engineering, Environmental, Utility, Surveying, Construction, and Infrastructure. Job Summary: Hybrid position consisting of expected time spent split 75% field, 25% office. Ensuring field teams adherence to AECOM's strict guidelines for safety and quality. Responsible for creation, and maintenance of field crew schedule for field teams across numerous projects of diverse scope across multiple locations. Ensure adherence to field schedule to ensure projects are completed within communicated schedule/budget. Read and interpret utility drawings, as-builts, GIS Files and other forms of utility records data. Initiate, track, and process, and document utility records requests with various Utility One Call Centers and Utility Owners/Operators. Utilize a suite of advanced geophysical equipment (to include Ground Penetrating Radar), observational skills, and deductive reasoning to identify, designate and locate (vacuum excavation) all utilities within a requested job scope in accordance with American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 38-02 & 38-22. Utilize GPS and Total Station survey equipment in combination with Trimble Data Collectors and applications including Trimble Access and Trimble Mobile manager to survey utility features and line segments. Perform field audits on previously investigated utilities and/or collected field data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Perform QA/QC of SUE field data and performed by AECOM and its subcontractors. Troubleshoot technical problems in the field. Consistently and effectively communicate with field and office staff as well as Managers and Professionals in Charge to relay project information Act as an advisor/mentor to junior field staff. Occasional interaction with clients, utility representatives, business owners and/or homeowners. Minimum Requirements: BS Degree + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. SUE and/or private utility locating experience equivalent with a demonstrated commitment to quality and attention to detail. Experience and understanding of SUE practices and procedures in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22. Position requires frequent traveling to field locations. Locations and distances vary and will include overnight travel. Frequent lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted. Frequent outdoor work in a variety of seasonal weather conditions. Daily walking several miles to perform job duties. Frequently across outdoor construction environments with a variety of uneven terrains such as mud, rock, grass, dirt and other unpaved terrains and variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise. Valid U.S. Driver's License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated proficiency with pipe and cable locators such as Radio Detection RD and Vivax Metrotech vLoc Pro to designate all utility types to include EMS Marker Ball detection. Proficiency with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) such as Impulse Radar's PinpointR GPR System. Advanced understanding of surveying best practices, techniques, and equipment for Virtual Reference Station (VRS), Base Station and Total Station surveys. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite of applications to include Office, Excel, Teams, and Word. Proficiency with ArcGIS suite of services to include, Field Maps, Survey 123, and Workforce including documentation, implementation and trouble shooting. Proficiency in the safe operation of hydro/air vacuum excavation trucks and equipment. Detail-oriented and ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude consistent with AECOM's Core Values. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with little direct supervision. Troubleshooting skills and be willing and able to learn new procedures and technologies. Ability to adhere to AECOM strict standards for safety and quality. OSHA 10/30 Course Completion Certification First Aid, CPR, or and/or AED training Certification. BAMI/UESI Utility Investigation School Completion Certification. Experience in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Open Roads. Traffic Control Supervisor Certification (ATSSA). Familiarity with ASCE 75-22 - Standard Guideline for Recording and Exchanging Utility Infrastructure Data.
