AECOM Tishman has an exciting opportunity for an MEP Superintendent to join our team of professionals across Northern New Jersey. The Construction Superintendent is responsible for on-site management of construction projects from mobilization through completion. This role ensures that all construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the contract documents, schedule, and budget. Provide overall on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects. Responsible for the organization and direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project. May be the primary client contact for all jobsite day to day activities, or may coordinate with client's resident representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of operations. Responsibilities are to ensure assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards. Interfaces with all other administrative field staff, field management staff and particularly the Project Manager in a coordinated effort. Coordinate and supervise all field operations, subcontractors, and trades on site. Enforce project safety, quality control, and cleanliness standards. Maintain project schedule by ensuring trade contractors meet their deadlines. Conduct daily site walkthroughs, safety meetings, and progress meetings. Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals. Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding site progress, issues, and logistics. Manage inspections, RFIs, field reports, and punch lists. Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations. Write detailed daily reports describing all job activities. Minimum Requirements: BA/BS Engineering or related curriculum and 4 years of relevant construction Mechanical/Electrical Superintendent experience or AA/AS and 6 years of relevant experience or HS/GED and 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Physical Demands: Construction field positions require physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and stairs, use personnel hoists, and move through various terrain and active construction zones. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Team members must be capable of using their hands to handle tools and materials, and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted may be necessary on an occasional basis. Work Environment: Individuals in construction field roles work primarily on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job-related hazards is common, with or without accommodation. These environments may include proximity to heavy machinery, elevated work areas, airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on the phase of construction. Employees may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and must remain alert to ensure safety. Additional duties may be assigned as needed based on the scope and progress of the project. Preferred Requirements: 4-8 years of experience in a superintendent or site supervisory role. Proven track record with commercial and institutional construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and scheduling. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in reading construction documents and using construction management software. OSHA 30 certification required; First Aid/CPR preferred. Ability to work on-site full-time and manage multiple construction projects. Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office. Mechanical/Electrical interiors construction is preferred.
