As our Graphic Designer, you'll help shape how people see, feel and connect with one of the nation's top rehabilitation hospitals. From meaningful patient stories to systemwide campaigns, your work will show up in ways that inspire, inform and empower. This role is a great fit for a detail-driven, concept-forward designer who's passionate about purposeand excited to collaborate across teams. Working onsite at our Grand Rapids Campus, you'll work side by side with creative teammates and internal partners to keep our visual identity strong, consistent and full of heart. Essential Job Responsibilities Thrive in a high-volume, high-performing creative content team within our hospital system Consistently produce outstanding graphic design for print, digital and video mediums Work directly with creative project manager and creative team members to keep projects on deadline Collaborate with graphic designers, copy writers and creative managers to maintain and evolve Mary Free Bed visual brand standards Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external printers and vendors. Other duties as assigned Customer Service Responsibilities Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members. This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information. Responsibilities in Quality Improvement Contribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions. Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service. Essential Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Art and Design with an emphasis in Graphic Design/Graphic Arts or related field. At least five-years of experience creating high-level print and digital graphic design A strong portfolio of work demonstrating exceptional graphic design skills Strong verbal and written communication skills; effectively communicate cross departmentally and externally. Must provide and receive creative rationales, guidance and feedback with grace. Expert skill level in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop Highly proficient in Canva, particularly developing templates for non-designers Experienced in Microsoft Office suite and ability to analyze elements and consider different ways they can be used effectively for patient, clinical and public audiences. Strong critical thinking skills and ability to analyze elements and consider different ways they can be used effectively for patient, clinical and public audiences. Demonstrated experience in information design and designing infographics Proficient at creating distinctive printed materials including ads, booklets (annual reports, corporate overviews), brochures, fliers, reports and signs Proven ability to develop digital designs for website, social media, ads, digital signage & email marketing Expert understanding of file preparation/finalizing artwork for both print and digital applications, Comfortable concepting website pages and email CRM layouts Ability to work successfully in shared network filing, project management and time tracking tools Ability to work successfully onsite in a busy, often noisy, open creative environment Highly organized, able to prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously Turns high-volume, high-quality projects quickly, efficiently and accurately Positive attitude, strong work ethic, innovative approach to projects and lively sense of humor Preferred Job Qualifications Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy and objectives into design concepts. Knowledge of ADA design standards and second-nature to work within those frameworks Demonstrated experience in leading design discovery sessions. Confidence in pitching creative concepts to groups. Ability and interest in designing on-trend graphics and motion graphics for social platforms. Experience using generative AI as a brainstorming and concepting tool. One to three years related marketing experience preferred, health care industry experience a plus.
