is looking for a dependable and experienced Machine Repair Technician to maintain and repair a wide range of equipment in our die casting facility. The technician will play a key role in ensuring the uptime, reliability, and efficiency of automated and mechanical systems critical to high-volume automotive die casting operations. This is a W-2 full-time Direct Hire position based in the Greater Louisville, KY area. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on die casting, CNC, hydraulic trim presses, robots, end of arm tooling, and secondary equipment. Perform regular preventative maintenance on machinery including die casting machines, CNC, hydraulic trim presses, robots, end of arm tooling, cooling systems, and handling equipment. Adjust and align mechanical components to ensure proper equipment functionality and product quality. Lifting and rigging of components greater than 100 tons. Rebuild pumps, cylinders, gearboxes, and other mechanical components as needed. Respond to breakdowns quickly and efficiently to minimize production downtime. Maintain and update maintenance records, logs, and work orders in the CMMS system. Work with other maintenance team members, electricians, and engineers to support production objectives. Assist with equipment installation, relocation, and decommissioning activities. Identify root causes of chronic equipment failures and propose long-term solutions. Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and proper use of PPE. Qualifications: Journeyperson certification in Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Machine Repair, or equivalent technical training. 3+ years of experience in industrial or automotive manufacturing environments, ideally in die casting or foundry operations. Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Licensed and experienced operating a forklift and scissor lift and JLG. Ability to read mechanical blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and technical documentation. Experience with 5S practices. Welding experience preferred. Experience using hand tools, machine tools, and measuring instruments. Comfortable working with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Ability to work independently and cross functionally in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Must be physically fit and able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, and respond to after-hours emergencies as required. Preferred Skills: Experience with specific die casting equipment (e.g., Bhler, Frech, Idra). Familiarity with robotic handling systems, trim presses, and CNC machining centers. Basic knowledge of electrical or PLC troubleshooting is a plus.
