Payroll And Benefits Specialist
The Payroll And Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and executing payroll and benefits processes for August Bioservices. This position ensures timely and accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role also serves as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll and benefits questions and issues. Responsibilities
Process bi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule using ADP Workforce Now. Maintain and update employee payroll records, deductions, and direct deposit information. Review timekeeping records for completeness and accuracy; follow up on missing or inconsistent entries. Prepare and submit payroll reports and reconciliations as required by internal stakeholders and auditors. Ensure compliance with all payroll tax regulations and support the Finance department with quarterly and year-end filings. Partner with People Operations and Finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries. Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), and other voluntary benefits. Act as liaison between employees and insurance providers to resolve benefit-related issues. Coordinate annual open enrollment, including communication materials, system setup, and employee assistance. Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS and vendor systems. Reconcile monthly benefits invoices and ensure timely payment. Support COBRA administration through third-party vendor. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefits trends and legislative changes impacting employee benefits. Conduct new hire benefit sessions and proactively create new hire and recruiting benefit information. Conduct regular benefit training sessions and/or send out proactive benefit education materials to employees, ensuring employees fully understand and utilize all benefits offered. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in ADP and other systems, as well as personnel files. Assist in internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits. Generate reports and metrics as needed for management and regulatory reporting. Create employee profiles for new hires in ADP and assist with other parts of the onboarding process. Complete all offboarding tasks for departing employees. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred. 3+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience required. Experience with ADP Workforce Now highly preferred. Knowledge of federal and state payroll and benefits laws and regulations, multi-state a plus. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. High degree of confidentiality and professionalism. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
