Location: Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School, Bethlehem, PA
Schedule: Full-time, 10-month position paid over 12 months
Start Date: August 13, 2025
Reports to: Elementary Principal
Position Summary
Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School is seeking a
5th Grade Teacher
to join our
Primary Years Programme (PYP)
team. This role requires a teacher who can engage students in meaningful, inquiry-based learning experiences while supporting their academic and personal growth as they prepare for the transition to middle school. The successful candidate will be confident working with students at a pivotal stage of development and comfortable navigating both structure and independence as students mature.
Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the PYP framework and Pennsylvania standards Support students in developing the organizational, social, and academic skills necessary for success in middle school Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area teams to create interdisciplinary units of inquiry Use assessment data to differentiate instruction and support student growth Create a structured, respectful classroom environment that supports student voice, responsibility, and independence Maintain open and proactive communication with students, families, and colleagues Actively participate in professional development and contribute to a collaborative school culture Model and support the development of the IB Learner Profile attributes in students
Qualifications: Experience working collaboratively in a team teaching environment Ability to support students in developing executive functioning and interpersonal skills PA Elementary or Middle Years Certification preferred Experience with upper elementary or transitional-grade students Understanding of inquiry-based and concept-driven learning
