Computer Programmer
This position is responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of internal applications. Location: Barneveld WI Reports to: SVP of IT and Operations Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance internal web applications using PHP, SQL, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS. Design and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures to support application functionality and performance. Collaborate closely with distribution center stakeholders to gather requirements and implement practical, scalable solutions. Work directly with the existing programming team to ensure alignment with system architecture and coding standards. Troubleshoot and debug issues across existing applications and provide prompt support for critical business systems. Participate in code reviews, documentation efforts, and version control practices. Create reports and dashboards using SQL-based reporting tools. Ensure system security, performance, and reliability through best practices in code and database management. Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server). Proficiency in web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REST APIs. Experience working with internal business systems or ERP integrations is a plus. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). 3-5 years of experience in software development with a primary focus on PHP and SQL. Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
