This role will report directly into the Director of Engineering and be responsible for: Leading the weld repair strategy for casted superalloy components Managing and supporting a team of welders on the production floor Inspecting and approving welds to ensure quality and compliance Analyzing welding conditions and environmental factors impacting results Conducting x-ray and fluorescent penetrant inspections (FPI) on welds Investigating defects and conducting CAPA for weld-related issues Improving and standardizing weld processes to enhance efficiency and consistency Solving complex weld challenges in hard-to-weld areas Collaborating with engineering and quality teams to optimize weld repair techniques Maintaining documentation and ensuring adherence to industry standards and procedures MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The successful candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Experience working with superalloys and high-temperature materials Proven background in weld repair, preferably in casted components Familiarity with welding standards, specifications, and procedures Strong understanding of welding environments, conditions, and variables affecting weld quality Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Demonstrated ability to solve complex welding challenges, especially in difficult-to-access or high-precision areas Strong communication and leadership skills with experience managing or supporting welders on the floor Proficient in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma is a plus) Knowledge of relevant safety practices and regulatory requirements What's on Offer
