Beverly Hills, CA (Hybrid Work Option Available) Job Overview: A prominent law firm located in Beverly Hills, CA, is seeking a highly skilled Law and Motion Attorney with a strong background in legal research, writing, and motion practice. This position involves drafting and arguing motions to advance tenant rights cases and providing vital litigation support to trial attorneys. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting persuasive pleadings in complex tenant litigation and a strong commitment to tenant rights advocacy. Duties: Research and prepare high-quality legal briefs, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, oppositions, and appellate briefs. Argue motions in court and assist in litigation strategies through effective written advocacy. Analyze case law, statutes, and procedural rules to formulate compelling legal arguments. Collaborate with trial attorneys in developing case strategies and legal theories. Assist in drafting discovery responses, evidentiary motions, and trial briefs. Stay up to date on developments in landlord-tenant laws and contribute to internal legal training. Requirements: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active membership in the California State Bar. 2+ years of experience in motion practice, legal research, and writing. Strong written advocacy skills with the ability to craft persuasive legal arguments. Knowledge of landlord-tenant law, civil procedure, and appellate practice is preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in public interest, tenant rights, or housing law. Fluency in Spanish or another language spoken by tenants. Education: J.D. from an accredited law school. Certifications: Active membership in the California State Bar.
