New hires may earn a salary ranging from the minimum to the midpoint of the pay scale, with education and experience taken into consideration.

The Senior Accountant - Building Operations is responsible for accounting for all aspects of a portfolio of investor-owned and Plymouth wholly owned residential properties that provide homes for formerly homeless individuals. Some properties include commercial space and condo associations. Duties include review of key agreements between Plymouth Housing Group and related party entities, act as key support for program and building leaders responsible for each building. Coordination with the grants & payroll teams on appropriate labor and expenditure allocations to ensure full utilization of grant funding, and with the asset management team on capital planning and use of building level reserves. Collaborate with real estate development team on activities and documentation required to support closing of construction & controlled accounts and receipt of equity payments from investors.

Specific tasks related to an assigned property portfolio include (but are not limited to) general ledger maintenance and reconciliation, cash management, financial statement preparation, budget research and preparation, grant billing and review, funder reporting & compliance, financial audit prep, contract monitoring, and Washington State and IRS reporting compliance.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE AT PLYMOUTH HOUSING

Accounting & Financial Reporting Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts. Maintain fixed asset records and manage cash flow. Produce monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Budgeting & Forecasting Collaborate on annual operating and capital budgets. Analyze financial trends and support planning efforts.

Compliance & Internal Controls Prepare grant invoicing and funder reports. Ensure timely submission of state and federal filings. Support audit preparation and contract monitoring.

Team Support & Training Mentor new accountants and support team onboarding. Provide financial training to department leaders.

Leadership & Communication Lead projects and process improvements. Translate financial data for non-financial stakeholders.

SOME KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES WE NEED FROM YOU Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of voices. Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting. Experience preparing financial statements, budgets, and grant reports. Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookup) and accounting software (MIP preferred). Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and Plymouth Housing's mission.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance, or a combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 3+ years of experience in accounting and financial analysis. Experience supporting multiple legal entities, audit and tax return preparation and operating and budget creation. Experience with nonprofit accounting, grants, and public funding, a plus. Experience with MIP Fund Accounting, Boston Post or Yardi property management software.

Basic skills with Outlook, Adobe Acrobat DC, MS Word, MS Teams, and Zoom.
