BCG Attorney Search
A law firm seeks an Oil and Gas Title Attorney in Houston, TX. This full-time role requires a detail-oriented attorney with expertise in oil and gas law, particularly in New Mexico. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior attorneys to provide timely and accurate solutions to clients.
Duties
Conduct title examinations to determine ownership of oil and gas properties. Analyze documents such as deeds, leases, and contracts to establish ownership rights. Draft title opinions highlighting defects, liens, or issues affecting property ownership. Conduct due diligence reviews for oil and gas transactions. Provide guidance on legal risks and strategies for mitigating issues in transactions. Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and contracts. Ensure contracts comply with relevant laws and protect client interests. Stay updated on federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Collaborate with litigation attorneys if legal action is necessary. Work collaboratively with team members to execute complex legal transactions. Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours. Actively pursue continuous learning opportunities. Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license. At least three years of experience drafting title opinions for New Mexico lands. Familiarity with preparing large, unit-wide division order ownerships. Exceptional commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Passion for professional development and skill enhancement. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize. Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications
Active law license. Skills
