Description
The successful individual in this position is responsible for executing all essential duties while adhering to the key principles of project management by bringing clarity to projects, maintaining a positive attitude, and consistently communicating effectively with team members, departments, and management. The IT Project Manager will possess a strong understanding of the established project management life cycle from project initiation to project closure and will effectively communicate and ensure its proper execution. Essential Duties
Serves as the IT project management subject matter expert (SME) within the IT department. Helps to assess project feasibility and scheduling relative to IT staff resources and capacity. Supports the project defining, development, and scheduling processes. Understands, monitors, communicates, and assists in the coordination of IT projects to help ensure management and staff meet expectations for measurable on-time completion of milestones and projects. Evaluates deviations from the project plan and implements corrective actions. Interfaces directly with the organization's PMO on projects with IT responsibilities. Builds and maintains the project management dashboard for the CIO and IT management team. Supports coordination of IT-related project activities across organizational functions. Communicates IT project statuses to departments, the PMO, and the Technology Steering Committee. Provides training to IT staff in the effective use of project management software. Assists IT management in assessing staff's understanding and adherence to project management practices. Acts as a leader and key team player in job responsibilities. Manages the implementation, upgrades, and maintenance of the bank's project management software, including customization. Manages vendor relationships related to project management software/services. Ensures adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and standards. Supports organizational and departmental effectiveness in project execution. Maintains professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and certifications. Performs special projects and duties as assigned by the CIO.
