Payroll Manager SSA Holdings is looking for a Payroll Manager to play a key role in the weekly and biweekly payroll process. This role will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with all local, state, and federal wage and hour regulations. You will support unit level management, the People Department, and senior leadership in developing the best practices for timecard management, weekly reporting, and maintaining supporting documentation. You will work closely with the payroll specialists to resolve payroll exceptions, and employee pay discrepancies.

Reporting Relationship The Payroll Manager reports directly to the Director of Accounting Payroll & Benefits.

Team Dynamic The Payroll Manager works in the Accounting Team and frequently collaborates with the People Department.

Location Denver, CO @ SSA HQ; onsite with some opportunity for remote day(s).

Job Responsibilities • Payroll Administration o Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, other compensation, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. o Weekly and biweekly processing for up to 1200 FTBE salary and hourly; 5k hourly team members dependent on season and growth across multiple states, multiple entities for year round operations. o Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions to include but not limited to supporting documentation for tips and service charges paid, bonuses, timecard edits, deductions, and other special pay codes. o Maintain compliance with minimum wage law, penalty pay, sick pay, PTO (paid time off), TAFW (time away from work), pay equity, and wage range. o Communicate on Direct Deposit rejections, navigating steps as needed. o Support reconciliations of on-demand pay program o Provide troubleshooting and administrative support on W-4 and W-2. o Assist with maintaining accurate payroll tax rates, communication of new tax jurisdictions to leadership, and quarterly and annual reconciliations. o Process final pay requests, pay voids and reissue. o Review personnel updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates for accuracy. o Support People Department in review and approvals of payroll related employee profile updates including tax withholding, garnishments, electronic pay enrollments, and benefits. o Support payroll specialists in daily functions to ensure timely processing of payroll based on designated processing schedules. • Support in-unit management and admins with payroll inquiries and best practices for maintaining accurate timecards and timely processing. • Communicate timely and effectively with SSA team members, partners and vendors. • Perform other tasks as necessary.

Job Requirements • 2 to 3 years working in payroll role, with company-wide oversight required. • Associates degree preferred. • Ceridian Dayforce experience preferred. • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function includes preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes. • Comprehensive knowledge of business financials, analytics, planning and leadership skills. • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Office 365 suite. • Human Resources or People Management experience a plus. • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Compensation and Benefits • Full-Time • Salary – based on consideration of relevant job experience and certification/education; $85,000-$100,000. • Vacation or TAFW (time away from work) Plan – we want our team to take time as they need, so don’t accrue hours but rather give you freedom to schedule within scope of the business and your needs. • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance; employee premiums applicable. • Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability, employer sponsored; scaled salary pay following submission and approval of leave. • Birthing Parent Plan covers up to (6-8) weeks fully paid leave, based on birthing event. • (4) Week fully paid Parental leave following birth, adoption or foster event, can be coupled with Birthing Parent Plan to extend above timeline. • 401k program, eligible for enrollment after (1) year of employment during January or June open enrollment periods.
