* Practice Setting: Community hospitals (Level III Trauma) * Annual ED Volume (per location): 10,000-23,000 visits * Daily Patient Volume: 30-50 (varies by site) * Patient Population: All ages * Support:
* APPs * 24/7 hospitalist coverage * Real-time radiology reads * 24/7 X-ray and CT; Ultrasound on-call overnight
* EMR: Epic
Clinical Scope
* Treat patients with serious and non-serious illnesses/injuries * Common cases: Heart attacks, strokes, MVAs, infections, pneumonia * Perform resuscitation, stabilization, assessments, diagnostics, and treatment * Refer to appropriate specialties as needed
Requirements
* Board Certification:
* Required: BC in EM or FM * Not accepted: BE candidates
* Experience:
* Minimum: 2 years (no extensive multi-location histories to streamline credentialing) * New grads: Only considered for permanent roles
* Licensure:
* Indiana license - required * IMLC LOQ - acceptable
* DEA: Required * CSR (Indiana Controlled Substance Registration): Required * Certifications:
* ACLS / ATLS / PALS - Required (unless ABEM-certified; then only DEA/CSR required)
