A confidential company is seeking a hands-on *Database Administrator* to manage and optimize our core SQL database systems and support internal reporting needs. This hybrid role is critical to maintaining the integrity, performance, and availability of systems that power our front-end applications and operational decision-making.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining our legacy and modern data systems — and leading the effort to modernize and migrate our core database infrastructure to SQL Server. While database administration is the primary focus, this role also supports business intelligence reporting using tools like Power BI and SSRS.

This is *not a product development or data science role* — it’s a practical, operations-aligned position supporting real-time and batch processes that power our dialer system, front-end tools, and financial reporting.

*Key Responsibilities:*

* Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL databases (including legacy SQL Anywhere/SyBase and modern SQL Server) * Execute and tune SQL queries to support business operations, ad hoc analysis, and scheduled reporting * Monitor database performance, uptime, and backup integrity * Plan and support the migration from SyBase/SQL Anywhere to SQL Server * Troubleshoot system issues involving data latency, quality, or corruption * Create reports, queries, and dashboards using Power BI, SSRS, or similar tools for business users * Support internal teams with business reporting and dashboards using tools like Power BI or SSRS * Collaborate with operations, finance, and leadership teams to understand data needs and ensure timely delivery of accurate information * Partner with the IT Systems Administrator on server patching, hardware lifecycle planning, and root cause troubleshooting related to database or system performance * Support data security and compliance, including access control, audit logging, and backup/restore protocols * Document database structures, data dictionaries, ETL processes, and report logic * Recommend and implement data quality improvements across internal systems and integrations * Perform other duties as assigned to support evolving business and technology needs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Experience: * Database administration: 3 years (Required) * Legacy Database: 1 year (Required) * Microsoft Windows Server: 3 years (Required) * Data migration: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification: * AWS Certified Database – Specialty (Preferred) * MCDBA (Preferred) * CompTIA Server+ (Preferred)

Ability to Commute: * Phoenix, AZ 85053 (Required)

Ability to Relocate: * Phoenix, AZ 85053: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Willingness to travel: * 25% (Preferred)
