Reports to supervisor and manager.Duties and Responsibilities:Exhibit a positive attitude and display behavior consistent with Silver Cross Hospital core valuesBe a role model and resource for other staff, performing testing following laboratory procedureFunction as charge tech in absence of supervisor / managerCommunicate with incoming/outgoing shift designee to assess department status including daily department safety huddle as assignedAssist in training of staff and evaluating of students to ensure completion of training documentsAssist in creating and recording annual and new hire competenciesParticipate in writing/reviewing department policies and procedures in accordance with CAP and CLSI guidelines, ensuring that employees are informed and understand changesAssist with assigning CAP surveys and gathering evidence of compliance for CAP checklistsReview exception and correction reports as assigned by leadershipAssist in review of maintenance, temperature, and QC logs and help to address deviations and omissionsAssist in entering current and new lots of reagent and QC into computer programs and analyzersAssist in taking inventory to maintain par levels of QC and reagent inventory, may help place orders as appropriateAssist in daily review and troubleshooting of QC outliers and trends and notify supervisor / managerPerform bench duties as assignedParticipate in validation and training for new lab equipmentRequirements: Bachelor's Degree plus MT (ASCP) or Associate's Degree plus MLT (ASCP) or registry eligible.Work Shift Details:Nights - 10 Hours, Night shift; 11pm to 7:30am.
