Day.Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital in Stevens Point, WI is seeking a HEALTH UNIT COORDINATOR to join our STEVENS POINT HOSPITAL EMERGENCY team!The Health Unit Coordinator functions in two roles as a service provider and a member of the multidisciplinary care team, responsible for providing care support and service tasks. As a Health Unit Coordinator, assists the professional and paraprofessional staff by performing clerical and receptionist duties.HOURS: Occasional 0.01 FTE, Hours and Shifts as NeededExperience/Qualifications Knowledge of patient care standards and general office practices normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and completion of a nursing assistant course. Graduation from an accredited vocational technical adult education program for Health Unit Coordinators (VTAE) or an approved Health Unit Coordinator program, or training/education to meet job requirements necessary. Two years' experience as a nursing assistant in outpatient services beneficial. Two years' experience as a Health Unit Coordinator beneficial. Prior listing on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry required with current registry recommended. For Float, Palliative Care Unit (PCU), and Hospice - Current CNA registry required. Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy). Courses in computer applications and medical terminology. Annual accrual of CEUs/continuing education requirements per Education Council recommendation for the given year.
