The successful candidate will:Provide the supervision, guidance and evaluation to nursing personnel.Function as consultant to staff in the management of emergent patient care or staff problems.Serve as a point of contact for ancillary departments in the provision and evaluation of direct services to patient care units.Function as liaisons with medical faculty and community physicians in matters pertaining to clinical practice.Be responsible for staffing decisions and evaluation of nursing personnel.Interpret hospital policies and procedures to staff; applies policies consistently and fairly.Communicate with the Associate Nursing Directors in the follow-up of identified problems.Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the nursing budget.As off-shift nursing administrator, function as the representative of hospital administration in such matters as coordinating disasters, handing the media, resolving visitor/patient problems.Maintain and evaluate Quality Assurance activities and utilizes the results of these monitoring activities to initiate corrective actions and continuing education and skill development of the staff.Adjust the staffing patterns to reflect the changes in patient acuity levels.Communicate with the Nursing Directors in the follow-up of identified problems.Promote the strategic plans of the Hospital and department of nursing.Demonstrate flexibility and perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as required and/or as business needs warrant. Required Qualifications: New York State Licensed Registered NurseMasters Degree5+ years of post-licensure experience, to include 3+ years in a specialty, and 2+ years in a management/supervisory roleExperience with EHRPatient-focused and empatheticExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsSelf-motivated, dynamic, creative and ability to work on own initiativeDemonstrate ability to lead and be a change agent.Experience with nursing budgets/business acumen Developed understanding of customer services principlesKnowledge of regulations regarding New York State Department of Health and the Commission on Accreditation of Health Care OrganizationsPreferred Qualifications:Work Schedule:Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 4:00pm (Full-Time)Salary Grade/Rank: SL-5Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualificationsExecutive Order:Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
