Communications Specialist
Administration for Native Americans (ANA)
Tribal Tech, LLC is in search of a
Communications Specialist
with extensive experience and expertise to oversee and enhance both internal and external communication channels. The Communications Specialist will be responsible for coordinating efforts to provide professional support to senior principals and manage projects serving the Administration for Native Americans’ (ANA) target populations.
The Administration for Native Americans supports Native American communities by providing financial assistance and capacity building, gathering and sharing data, and advocating for improved policies within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and across the federal government.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategic communication plan that includes marketing initiatives to support the communication activities and enhance the client’s overall profile. Execute approved strategies developed with the client leadership team for outreach and engagement with federal client audience. Create a social media calendar to drive interest and engagement through daily feed posts and story content. This includes platform and content strategy, production, and programming across all social media channels. Manage, monitor, and update all social media accounts and website content. Oversee engagement and develop best practices; and promote client messaging, through the client’s website, Facebook, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, and YouTube. Monitor analytics and set specific goals and objectives, reporting weekly on social media performance and identifying growth opportunities. Develop, proofread, and maintain various publications, including Congressional Reports, Funding Opportunity Announcements, manuals, talking points, power-points, briefing papers, press releases, testimony, newsletter articles, and blogs. Create, produce, and edit photo and video content for all platforms. Utilize, refine, and maintain brand and communications style guide throughout all communication channels, including logos, hashtags, tagging, video formats, tone of voice, and digital assets. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Knowledge:
Exceptional verbal, written, and editing skills. Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies and the capacity to create effective messaging and direct contributions from multiple sources. Experience working with distressed communities, particularly American Indian/Alaska Native communities, strongly preferred and the ability to communicate in a culturally competent manner with cross-cultural understanding. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy Understanding of storytelling and what constitutes engaging social media content. Familiarity of best practices for social media platforms Proficient in Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premier Pro), Constant Contact, social media management tools, and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint). Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and deliver quality results under tight deadlines. Capability to work both individually and in a team environment. Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to complete a background investigation favorably.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Requires 3+ years of related experience in communications, public relations, or technical writing and editing. Experience with Web communications, HTML, and social media required. Awareness of best practices for accessible communications, such as designing newsletters for screen reader accessibility. Experience developing newsletters or other internal communications. Experience developing external communications and/or public events. Experience preparing slide decks or other presentation materials.
