Rapid Die Cut is a fast-growing digital manufacturing company building modern tools to make custom parts from foams, films, rubber, and other flexible materials—fast. We're rethinking how engineers and product teams order custom die-cut parts by combining cloud-based technology with industrial automation.
Our backbone is an open-source, Python-based ERP system—Odoo—which we are transforming into an AI-native, real-time operations engine. Our mission is full digitization from order entry through shipping and logistics. We are building the connective tissue between ERP, factory floor systems, and AI agents to make manufacturing smarter, faster, and more resilient.We're scaling quickly and looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer to help drive our next phase of growth.
The Role
We’re hiring a Lead Full Stack Engineer to work on-site at our Detroit, MI headquarters. You’ll lead development of new web-based tools and systems that power our manufacturing workflows, customer experience, and ecommerce platform. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll build core features, guide architectural decisions, and work closely with our internal users to solve real-world problems.
What You’ll Do
· Design and build scalable full-stack applications for ecommerce and manufacturing.
· Lead engineering projects from concept to deployment.
· Collaborate with production and operations teams to automate key workflows.
· Build and integrate APIs, internal dashboards, and tooling for quoting and order tracking.
· Break down complex problems into actionable tasks for yourself and others.
· Own code quality with thoughtful architecture, testing, and peer reviews.
· Contribute to technical roadmap and planning discussions.
About You

Required Experience
· 8+ years professional software engineering experience, including team leadership.
· 5+ years building production apps with Node.js.
· 5+ years deploying cloud applications on AWS (EC2, S3, SQS, Lambda).
· 3+ years with Docker and containerized workflows.
· *Complex API integrations* - payment processing, shipping, external manufacturing systems including webhooks and RESTful API design
· *Database architecture* - PostgreSQL, data modeling for manufacturing workflows
· Solid understanding of git workflows, unit testing, and agile practices with demonstrated use of modern development tools like GitHub Copilot / Cursor

· *ERP integration experience* - *Odoo strongly preferred*, or similar systems (SAP, NetSuite)
· *E-commerce platform APIs* - BigCommerce preferred, or Shopify
· Experience with microservices design and tools like Terraform- Background working with CAD tools or 3D modeling APIs.
· Prior experience in a startup environment.
