Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group is seeking a Certified Physician Assistant or surgically experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for the Gastrointestinal Surgical Oncology department. Sarasota is located approximately 60 minutes south of Tampa. The area is known for the arts, great restaurants, world-class beaches, excellent schools, and a wide variety of activities for all ages.

Responsibilities Include:
- Working with the GI Oncology team, which includes two surgeons and three Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) providing four 10-hour shifts a week at one hospital.
- First and second assisting in the operating room.
- Rounding on inpatients, seeing consults and coordinating care of patients in the outpatient clinic.
- Weekday/weekend call will be shared equally with other providers (1:4).
Qualifications:
- General Surgery, or Surgical Oncology experience is preferred.
- Current NCCPA or ANCC certification required and must also have an active license by the State of Florida by the time of hire.
- Board Certified Physician Assistant, Board Certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who has active, relevant and routine experience in 2 of the last 4 years (defined as at least 500 acute care inpatient encounters over two years).
- APPs are required to maintain appropriate DEA prescription privileges/licensure.
- BLS required. ACLS certification preferred.
