The Registered Nurse is responsible for all nursing personnel assigned to the Team. He/she functions as a mentor to their team, teaching and demonstrating nursing care procedures. He/she maintains a professional profile, promotes cooperation, a positive attitude, and creates a safe environment for both patients and staff. The Registered Nurse is responsible for knowing and adhering to established hospital policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety. Duties of a Registered Nurse may include the following but are not limited to: Uses the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care. Collects data relevant to patients' conditions and reports critical values to physicians in a timely manner. Assesses appropriate lab and diagnostic data. Documents findings of physical assessment and is able to identify abnormal findings. Develops a plan of care based on patient needs. Advocates on behalf of the patient and their family. Performs interventions according to patient needs and hospital policy. Evaluates patient outcomes in relation to goals. Adheres to all safety guidelines and exercises the utmost care when interacting with patients. Demonstrates a professional demeanor in interactions with patients, families, peers, and staff, and maintains open communication with nursing management.
