San Vicente - West Village
Purpose :
The Maître d’ is responsible for ensuring a seamless and exceptional guest experience from the moment members and guests arrive until they leave. This front-of-house leader manages reservations, coordinates seating, and ensures member and guest experience meets club standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests warmly and professionally.
- Ensure guests are seated promptly and comfortably.
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere and address guest complaints or special requests promptly and efficiently.
- Train and mentor front-of-house team members to ensure high service standards.
- Work closely with the F&B team to ensure smooth communication and service flow.
- Monitor dining room cleanliness, ambiance, and table settings.
- Develop and maintain the seating chart and floor plan in collaboration with our Membership team
- Ensure consistency in service and adherence to restaurant policies.
- Take restaurant reservations accurately and efficiently
- Supervise Front Desk Host team in absence of manager
- Answer phone calls and emails with confidence and professional verbiage following club standards
- Work quickly with Seven Rooms and Peoplevine systems
- Assist in the plotting and seating of all members and guests
- Ensure all rules of the club are understood and followed by all members and guests prior to entering the club
- Assist in printing daily menus for the club
- Acknowledge guests’ needs, anticipates guests’ needs and always responds promptly to maintain positive guest relations at all times
- Informs the Membership team of any guest complaints, requests or problems
- Follow all front office standard operating procedures.
- Resolve member and guest problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously. Expedite member and guest check-ins and departures. Provide concierge-type services to guests.
- Maintain effective relationships and communication with all other departments.
- Perform other appropriate tasks assigned by the Front Desk Manager.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of high volume Maitre’d experience required
- Excellent attitude to the job, co-workers, and members with the willingness to learn new things regardless of previous job experiences.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with speed and quality.
- Should be able to communicate, read and write clearly and effectively.
- The ability to interact with guests and team members professionally, including the ability to speak in front of small groups of team members.
- The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations
