Job Title: Director of Development - Mission Advancement
Salary Range: $110,000-150,000
Location: Administration
About The Position
The Director of Development is a strategic leader responsible for designing and executing fundraising strategies to support Evergreen Goodwills mission and growth. This role oversees the Development Team, cultivates high-value donor relationships, and drives initiatives to secure major gifts, grants, and sponsorships. The Director will ensure diverse revenue streams while fostering a culture of philanthropy.
Strategic Fundraising Leadership
- Develop and execute multi-year fundraising strategies to meet revenue goals, focusing on major gifts, corporate partnerships, and annual growth.
- Lead campaigns, including special initiatives and capital campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Board, stakeholders, and volunteers to leverage networks for fundraising.
Donor Engagement and Stewardship
- Implement donor engagement strategies to build relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
- Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, ensuring timely follow-up and personalized engagement.
Grant and Proposal Management
- Support a grant-writing team and oversee proposal development.
- Align proposals with donor priorities and program initiatives.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and mentor the development team, setting goals and providing professional development.
- Foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture.
- Develop KPIs and monitor progress.
Communications, Events, and Engagement
- Plan and execute fundraising events and donor activities.
- Coordinate with marketing to align messaging and materials.
- Serve as a liaison to enhance storytelling and engagement.
Financial Oversight
- Work with leadership and finance to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
- Manage the department budget and analyze metrics for reports.
Position Requirements
To perform this role successfully, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7-10 years in nonprofit development, with 3+ years in leadership.
- Proven success in securing major gifts ($50,000+).
- Experience with annual giving, sponsorships, and stewardship strategies.
- Leadership skills in managing teams and complex environments.
- Excellent communication skills and experience with donor management systems.
- Understanding of philanthropy trends and legal regulations.
- Physical ability to perform tasks during events, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Skills & Tools
