Compensation: The base salary for this position typically ranges from $80,000 to $90,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, experience, job-related expertise, and geographic location. Depending on the position, target bonuses and other forms of compensation may also be offered as part of a comprehensive total rewards package, which includes a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Transportation Analyst II to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in transportation and logistics, deep knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and proven analytical and multitasking abilities.
In this role, you will evaluate transportation networks, analyze shipping routes and freight expenses, and assess carrier performance to identify inefficiencies and implement data-driven solutions. Your goal will be to optimize route planning, reduce costs, and improve service levels across the supply chain. You will also coordinate the movement of goods and ensure compliance with both company policies and industry regulations.
Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Monitor logistics performance, analyze key data, and prepare reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure full compliance with DOT regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant transportation laws and standards.
  • Develop and optimize transportation routes to reduce costs and enhance delivery performance.
  • Serve as a liaison with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve logistics issues and maintain smooth operations.
  • Evaluate carrier performance and assist in negotiating competitive freight rates.
  • Support the execution of RFPs (Requests for Proposals) for freight and transportation services.
  • Investigate and resolve freight discrepancies, billing issues, and claims.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of logistics strategies that support operational efficiency and business growth.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure logistics initiatives align with broader company goals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with experience using TMS, ERP, inventory management systems, and tools such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or Tableau.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and solutions-driven, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
