Responsibilities include patient screening, positioning, operating MRI equipment, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and documenting procedures in the EMR. Interviews patients prior to MRI procedures for safety. Ensures patient safety by correctly identifying every patient using approved two (2) patient identifiers at every point of contact in the MRI suite. Explains the MRI process and instructs patients on the procedure to obtain optimal imaging diagnostic results. Answers all related questions and responds to patients' needs or concerns as required. Safely sets up, operates, and adjusts MRI equipment, selecting proper technical factors to obtain accurate MRI studies. Selects software options and imaging parameters while adjusting an MRI machine. Returns equipment to its original location after each scan. Ensures safety for patients, operators, and visitors within the magnetic field zone. Prepares patients for radiological procedures by safely positioning them for MRI scans. Adjusts immobilization devices and moves equipment into specified positions. Adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and monitors patients during scanning. Ensures that MRI rooms are clean, organized, and safe for examinations. Cleans MRI scanners after each patient use. Maintains proper-functioning imaging equipment and performs image quality and calibration tests as necessary. Reports any malfunctions to the appropriate staff. Maintains imaging supplies inventory by checking stock to determine levels and anticipating needed supplies. Evaluates images for technical quality and accuracy, ensuring proper identification of all images is recorded. Presents completed images to the Radiologist. Effectively uses electronic medical records (EMR) to document patient encounters and access pertinent data and imaging results. Keeps detailed and accurate patient records and results. Performs related work as assigned. Rotating weekends are a requirement, and workers must report as scheduled, including holidays.
