Job Title: X-Ray Technologist Location: New York, NY 10024 Assignment Type: Contract Hours: 37.5 hours/week | 5 days/week | 7.5 hours/dayJob Summary:The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for operating radiologic equipment to produce images of the human body for diagnostic purposes. This role involves preparing patients, ensuring radiation safety, maintaining imaging equipment, and contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment.Responsibilities:Establish rapport with patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperationExplain procedures and respond to patient questionsPosition patients and equipment appropriately for optimal imagingAdhere to radiation safety protocols, including shielding and exposure controlFollow infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environmentProcess and evaluate radiographs for quality assuranceChart completed exams and maintain accurate patient recordsPerform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report malfunctionsMonitor and manage radiology supply inventoryMeet CME requirements and participate in professional development activitiesDemonstrate age-specific competency annuallySupport team efforts and complete additional duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of diagnostic imaging experienceGraduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic TechnologyNew York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T.) or temporary permit under Section 3505 of the Public Health LawARRT CertifiedAssociate's Degree (AA) or equivalentStrong clinical competency in diagnostic imaging proceduresEffective communication and collaboration skills
