Unlock your potential!Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Vascular Technologist, you are responsible for performing ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in all areas of ultrasound. You will operate ultrasound equipment to provide and document accurate and quality sonographic studies of normal and abnormal anatomy. You will perform ultrasound exams including Abdominal, OB, GYN, Small Parts, Prostates, and Vascular Scans. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and /or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner.You will identify upper/lower extremity venous anatomy, extra cranial and intracranial anatomy, upper/lower extremity arterial anatomy and collateral venous pathways in presence of diseaseYou will perform upper/lower extremity Venous Duplex protocol for DVT or Venous Insufficiency, Carotid Duplex exam protocol, protocol for upper/lower extremity arterial flow examYou will produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to GeriatricYou will relay to Radiologist any relevant patient informationYou will complete required documentation on forms, logs and in computerYou will label images and identify according to protocol.You will obtain all pertinent patient history, and relay it to the Radiologist to assist in diagnosis or treatmentYou will review written orders, assesses patient identification and ensures indicators are appropriate prior to procedureYou will clean exam tables and restock Ultrasound supplies as needed or usedYou will sterilize trans-vaginal transducer according to established protocolYou will complete the charge processing for individual patient care items, drugs and examsWhat qualifications you will need:One year experience as a diagnostic medical sonographerOne year experience as a Radiologic Technologist - preferredA single two-year allied health education program that is patient-care related OR Graduate of a program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), United States Department of Education (USDOE) or Canadian Medical Association (CMA), that specifically conductsprogrammatic accreditation for diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technologyAssociates degree or higher in related technological field - preferredRegistered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credentials with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)BLS Certification as per St. David’s Healthcare policyRegistered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), post- primary certification in Sonography – preferredCertified Medical Radiologic Technologist with the Texas Medical Board - preferredSt. David’s Round Rock Medical Center is a 200+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas.
