Description
UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care by offering after-hours care for canine and feline patients-without the high cost of emergency clinic fees. We treat common urgent cases such as wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and compassionate euthanasia. Our paperless clinics are designed for efficiency and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment.
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Lead Veterinary Technician to join our team and help drive exceptional patient care, team development, and client service in a fast-paced, innovative urgent care setting.
As the Lead Veterinary Technician, you will serve as a key member of the hospital leadership team. Your responsibilities will include supporting daily clinical operations, mentoring and training paraprofessional team members, ensuring adherence to best practices, and promoting a positive, collaborative work environment. You'll work closely with the Practice Manager and Lead DVM to help guide and support the hospital team while ensuring top-tier care for patients and clients.
Ideal Candidate
  • Provide high-quality technical support to veterinarians during exams, procedures, and treatments.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train veterinary assistants and technicians.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing development of clinical team members.
  • Oversee daily patient flow and ensure timely, efficient care.
  • Ensure hospital protocols and safety procedures are followed.
  • Assist with scheduling, inventory, and other operational tasks as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between the clinical team and hospital leadership.
Skills, Knowledge, & Expertise
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (or equivalent experience) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical veterinary setting; urgent/emergency experience a plus.
  • Previous leadership experience or demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, and lab work.
  • Passion for mentorship, collaboration, and delivering excellent patient and client care.
