Operates a scanner to obtain images used to diagnose and treat of pathologies.
Responsibilities:
Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
Enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in an automatic processor.
Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
Education :
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
One or more of the following:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered Technologist in Radiography R.T.(R)(ARRT) required within one year of transfer or hire date.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging R.T.(MR)(ARRT) required within one year of transfer or hire date. Must be in good standing or registry eligible.
Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
(ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
