Job DescriptionJob DetailsFull Time Contract Position for 3 Months with option to extendCorrectional Facility in Kenedy, TX5:40AM - 6:15PM - Rotating 4/3 ScheduleMust be IV CertifiedResponsibilitiesProvides nursing services, treatments and diagnostic and preventive procedures appropriate for inmate care and safetyInterprets physicians' ordersAdministers prescribed medicationWhen physician is present, assists physician with sick callApplies surgical dressings and bandagesProvides emergency first aid careChecks and records vital signsInstructs inmates concerning discharge planningObserves signs and symptoms during sick call when physician is not presentReports reactions to treatments and medications as well as changes in the inmates' emotional or physical conditionMay instruct and supervise correctional staff concerning inmate health care and needsConsults with supervisor on problem casesChecks and orders supplies - Maintains accurate medical recordsProvides health care education to inmatesRequirementsActive Texas LPN LicenseGraduate of a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nursing ProgramIV CertifiedCurrent BLS Healthcare Provider CertificationMinimum of 1 year of Med/Surg or LTAC experienceAbility to do a lot of different jobs - Clinic, in-patient, med pass, out-patient, wound care, cell side care, ER, critical care
