Event Staff personnel also serve as ticket taker, usher, door monitor, coat-check attendant and loading dock parking attendant. In the absence of the Director of Safety & Security or Security Coordinator, On Call Event Staff personnel may receive event-related instructions from an Event Staff Supervisor or Event Manager.This role will pay an hourly wage of $17.For PT roles: Benefits: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.EVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline.ResponsibilitiesJOB DUTIES: (include, but are not limited to)Patrol assigned facility locations; lock and unlock doors as requiredMonitor event activity areas as well as entrances and exitsObserve facilities and equipment for needed maintenance and repairs; recognize and report damage and safety hazardsBe aware of the location and use of emergency alarms and equipment; follow established procedures in case of fire, disorder or other emergency situationObserve general public; provide general information, directions and assistance to facility guests; report suspicious behavior to Security BaseMaintain high degree of visibility and professionalism; respond to various situations, issues and requests for assistance; prepare incident reports in accordance with departmental standardsAssist medical personnel by directing traffic, crowd control and securing needed equipmentFilling in for Security Base/Security Rover Personnel as needed, with duties including but not limited to, monitoring CCTV, Access Control, and writing incident reportsCommunicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writingPerform other duties as requiredTicket Taker:Collect tickets, passes, etc. for admission into events; check for authenticityProhibit access to guests without proper tickets, passes or other entry credentialsProvide an accounting of tickets, passes, etc. collected Provide general event and facility information to guestsUsher / Door Monitor / Badge Checker / Coat Check Attendant:Direct guests to their seats and provide general information regarding the event and the facilityMonitor entry and exit into facility events; prohibit access to guests without proper entry credentialsAssist in maintaining order during eventsProvide general event and facility information to guestsServe as a coat check attendant (receiving, caring for and re-distributing coats) as neededParking Attendant:Direct vehicles into and out of the loading dock area and assist with parkingOTHER CHARACTERISTICS:This is an On Call position with no minimum number of hours guaranteed. Work schedules are determined by event activity.Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and lift objects up to 50 poundsMust be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends and holidaysQualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Must be 18 years of age or olderHigh school diploma, or equivalent GEDPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Licenses or Certificates:Possession of, or ability to obtain a Virginia driver's license or identification cardPossession of, or ability to obtain a CPR certificatePossession of, or ability to obtain a DCJS Unarmed Security License
