About the Role:Seeking an experienced Monitor Tech to join their Telemetry team for a 13-week night shift contract. You'll be supporting critical units like ICU/Neuro and Med-Surg (4W, 4E, 5W, 5E), helping to monitor vital rhythms and ensure patient safety. Job Location: Monitor Tech/ Telemetry Tech/ EKG Tech/ Electrocardiogram tech Job Location: Bakersfield, CA 93301 Job Duration: 13-Week Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts I 7:00 PM Schedule: Every other weekend required | No call or standby Float Requirement: First to float to ICU/Neuro, 4W, 4E, 5W, & 5E •Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience (at least 1 year specifically as a monitor tech) Current BLS Certification (AHA) Must have experience with Cerner (Required) No first-time travelers Must be comfortable with dual roles (monitor tech & unit secretary during PM shift) Primary Responsibilities: Monitor and recognize cardiac rhythm changes using telemetry equipment. Promptly notify registered nurses of any abnormal or life-threatening rhythms. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of rhythm strips, measurements, and telemetry logs. Ensure all monitored patients are properly connected and actively displaying telemetry data. Work with Cerner charting system to enter and update relevant patient data. Use Philips and TeleTracking equipment to support patient monitoring and workflow. Perform dual roles during PM shifts, serving as both monitor tech and unit secretary as needed. May be assigned to act as a Patient Safety Advocate (PSA) or sitter for patients requiring additional observation. Float to cover various units including ICU/Neuro, 4W, 4E, 5W, and 5E based on hospital needs. Collaborate with charge nurses, shift managers, and house supervisors to maintain safe and efficient unit operations. Interested candidates must be licensed and cleared to submit.
