Report critical findings to ordering physician and/or vascular surgeon. Function within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization.ResponsibilitiesCommunicate effectively with colleagues, physicians, nurses, and other health care staffVerify patient identification, obtain pertinent health history, and explain procedure to patient clearlyUse advanced judgment to determine if the procedure is sufficient for proper diagnosis or further imaging procedures are neededFollow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as requiredAssists in all aspects of training new staff and vascular ultrasound studentsMaintain registry status through self-motivated educationTake part in re-accreditation processRequirementsSuccessful completion of an accredited Vascular Sonography program.Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International.Basic Life Support CertificationLMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.Licking Memorial Health Systems is an equal opportunity employer and maintains compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations.
