POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Accounts Payable and Travel Specialist handles accounts payable and travel functions, including processing purchase vouchers, travel requests, reimbursements, and reconciling payments. The role involves collaboration with the Accounts Payable and Travel team, Finance staff, and agency employees. This position requires onsite work at our Austin, TX office.

Vacancy levels are at two tiers: Specialist and Senior, with salary ranges $60,027$71,889 and $67,081$83,852 respectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Processing vendor invoices and approvals via PAVES system.
  • Preparing payments, initiating wire transfers, and tracking EPM forms.
  • Maintaining and verifying vendor records in financial systems and TINS.
  • Reconciling voucher discrepancies and assisting with records requests.
  • Serving as Citibank Card Program Administrator and supporting travel and expense processing in Concur.
  • Supporting year-end close, audit requests, and reporting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 3 years (Specialist), 5 years (Senior) in accounts payable, travel, or related financial roles. A degree may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred: Degree in accounting or finance, 4-6 years of related experience, familiarity with state systems (USAS, CAPPS), and experience as a program administrator or support contact.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of governmental accounting, automated systems, and state laws; skills in analyzing financial records, planning, and communication; ability to work accurately, independently, and collaboratively.
