Job Description
- Responsible for accurate and timely entry, reconciliation, and analysis of financial data and reporting to management and stakeholders.
- This person must possess great attention to detail, meticulous organization skills, strong financial acumen, high aptitude for technology and financial systems and a strong desire and ability to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the expectations of the role consistently growing and expanding.
- Reconcile tax accounts
- Pull compliance data for sales and use, personal property tax and send to 3rd party
- File sales and use tax returns and registrations as needed
- Maintain and process customer exemption certificates and refund requests
- Transaction tax audit defense
- Identify issues in current data and processes and lead the team to implement changes.
- Assist with IT projects to upgrade software and maintain monthly updates to tax as required.
- Prepare and support transaction tax refund claims: amend returns, file refund claims with state, and reconcile sales data as applicable.
- Communicate with peers and other departments as needed
- Assisting with various projects as assigned
- B.S. in Computer Science, Business or Related Field.
- 2-3 years experience in indirect tax.
- Strong SQL and Python experience.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving skills.
- SAP and Vertex experience are a plus.
- CCH or TTR experience is a plus.
- Ability to utilize critical thinking/analytical skills to solve complex tax issues.
- Organizational skills to be timely and keep files complete and organized.
- Communicate professionally.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize work. Pivot on assignments as necessary due to deadlines.
