They are responsible for maintaining structure and overseeingdaily operations in accordance with accreditation standards as defined by theCommission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP) and theAccreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and SurgicalAssisting (ARC/STSA). Requirements: Graduate of an accredited SurgicalTechnology program; current CSTOR TS-C certification; minimum of two years of experience as a surgical technologist;community college teaching experience preferred; must be knowledgeableabout methods of instruction, testing and assessment of studentsand knowledgeable concerning current national curricula, nationalaccreditation, and national certification; must have currentHealthcare Provider certification in CPR; must have personaltransportation and be willing to travel to clinical affiliate sites.Job Duties:1.Organize, administer, develop, and evaluate the effectiveness of clinicalexperiences for surgical technology students.2.Coordinate clinical education with didactic education. 3. Provide clinical instruction and document the evaluation and progression ofclinical performance leading to clinical competence. 4. Participate in appropriate professional development activities to ensurecurrency in discipline, knowledge, and instructional methods. 5. Participate in department/discipline, division, campus, and college meetingsand committees. 6. Participate in college projects, surveys, studies, and reports that relateto the program. 7. Collaborate in the development of program promotional materials. 8. Support the College's goals. 9. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.Clearance: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
