The purpose is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, and skills, the candidate will provide safe, high quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services. Care settings may include acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and remote statewide outreach clinics. The position involves preparing patients for procedures and correlating clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team are essential to identify and implement actions necessary to achieve desired clinical outcomes and service expectations. Utilizing a variety of cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques, the candidate will perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures in accordance with established guidelines. Conducting post-procedure reviews is required to confirm that all elements are completed, documented, and of technical quality consistent with established protocols. The role includes transferring images and data to archival systems, entering technical data, and preparing studies for reporting by physicians. Operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and user maintenance of equipment will be necessary. The candidate will participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote improvements in care and treatments. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Skills required include the ability to apply principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, and the positioning of patients. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team, consistently report to work as scheduled, and be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs. Maintaining accurate records and working accurately with names, numbers, and codes is essential. The candidate should be able to draw conclusions, make appropriate recommendations, and exercise discretion in handling confidential information. A calm demeanor in stressful situations is important, along with the ability to understand policies and procedures. The candidate must communicate effectively with staff and patients, displaying a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently. Attention to detail and the ability to work with minimum supervision are also essential. Core knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies, and terminology associated with the primary specialty are required.
