As a CT Technologist, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety of patients by providing accurate computed tomography imaging. You will perform scans for a high-volume outpatient department, with the potential to see up to 40 patients in eight hours. Because of this fast-paced workflow, efficiency and timeliness are essential. While this unit can get busy, you will still have numerous opportunities to explore the wealth of educational and professional development opportunities offered by Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works two 12-hour weekend shifts. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set-up.Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.Performs daily QA.Assist with scheduling of patients as needed.Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.Perform venipuncture as necessary and maintain competencies.Maintain all aspects of the CT area to ensure proper quality assurance results, maintenance of required documentation and keep the area in a state of inspection readiness and compliance (e.g., JCAHO, ODH, etc.).Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems to appropriate individuals.Provide coverage as needed and make self available to cover as needed (e.g., in the event of call off or extended patient schedules).Cover other modalities, sites and/or locations as needed.Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and Radiology students.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing Computed Tomography (CT) Certification (R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)) within one year of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
