The essential duties of this position are:Supervisor ResponsibilitiesMaintains department/employee recordsEnsures that Standards of Practice, technical quality are maintainedProvides direct supervisory oversight to team leads and technologists (employed and contracted)Assists with annual evaluations, coaching, mentoring, recruitment, retention, education and orientationManages the radiation dosimetry process for the facilityManages the annual lead apron check process ensures complianceAttends leadership functions in the absence of the director/manager, as neededImaging Procedures, Quality and ProcessingOversees and assigns the Quality Control processes (KPI) in assigned areasSupervises the work and workflow of the technologists to include: Provides proper patient education Positions patient properly for diagnostic exams Adjusts technical factors to account for age-specific criteria Maintains aseptic technique Manipulates image parameters as needed to obtain high quality diagnostic images Sends images to PACS Ensures department procedures are followedUpdates department protocols and procedures when needed, but reviewed at least annuallyMonitors procedures to ensure exams are timely and patient care delays are resolvedSupervises downtime procedures and guides technologists on their role during a downtimePatient CareMakes daily staffing assignments for team leads and technologistsMakes monthly staffing schedules, including on-call schedules, as neededFunctions as a technologist as needed to maintain patient satisfaction, decrease wait times, maintain patient flowEquipment Operation and MaintenanceManages the initial and annual competencies for new hires to include equipment operation and maintenanceSupervises staff training on equipment and maintenance to include: Adjusting technical factors Operation and maintenance of equipment Trouble-shooting malfunctions Stocking supplies Knowledge of equipment quality control requirements Cleaning equipment between patients and between shiftsTroubleshoots equipment problems; works with internal and/or external resources to resolve issuesSchedules equipment maintenance with vendorProfessional Accountability and PartnershipMaintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancementAttends departmental continuing education, meetings, and checks emailIdentifies, troubleshoots, initiates and participates in quality improvement activitiesManages time and reprioritizes as necessaryPerforms any assignment deemed necessary by supervisorCompliance with Policies and ProceduresEnsures team leads and technologists follow facility and department policies and proceduresMaintains compliance with regulatory agencies for team leads, staff technologists and self.Manages staff PTO requests and finds coverage, as neededThe ideal candidate will possess the followingqualificationsEducationOther Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology required OrAssociate degree preferredExperience3 Years experience in Mammography Required andprevious team lead or supervisory experience PreferredLicenses and CertificationsCMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist if ARRT Upon Hire Required AndARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) Upon Hire Required AndARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CT, M, MR, N or S if ARRT Upon Hire Required OrCNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Upon Hire Required OrARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers in three modalities Upon Hire Required AndBCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly RequiredSkillsCommunication, computer skills, proven RT skills in specialty area with knowledge of multiple disciplines.Why Texas Health Resources?At Texas Health Fort Worth we take seriously our mission to improve the health of those in our community.
