ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated experience working in the food and beverage industry. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure. Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: One (1) or more years of recent and related experience working as a host/hostess, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.
REASONING ABILITY: No decision making is required beyond the scope of essential duties.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and hazardous material training.
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Ability to perform mathematical calculations and cashiering skills. Has strong customer service skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion including constant brisk walking, climbing stairs, crouching, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties may require lifting trays containing beverages and food, and lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store, or move cocktailing, bar, kitchen, restaurant, or general office supplies and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible work week with additional hours routinely required, working any day of the week, any shift of the day.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Essential duties involve working in a small, confined work area and restaurant environment, with floors that may become slippery in the process of preparing food and beverages. Essential duties require working with large numbers of people while primarily in an inside environment.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Equipment used in performance of duties include computers, serving trays, refrigerators, knives, spoons, forks, glasses, pitchers, and various cleaning supplies.

- Extend a warm greeting to restaurant guests upon their arrival, accompanied by a genuine smile and a positive attitude.
- Calculate and provide accurate wait times, along with keeping guests informed about their table status.
- Escort guests to their designated tables, present menus, and assist with seating preferences. Accommodate special seating requests when feasible.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area, including the host station and waiting area.
- Foster communication between servers and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth, coordinated, and equitable seating process, preventing servers from becoming overwhelmed or underseated.
- Engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and respond promptly to inquiries or concerns.
- Stay well-versed in the menu, daily specials, and restaurant promotions to provide accurate information to guests.
- Address guest complaints or issues professionally or escalate them to the manager when necessary.
- Monitor and optimize table turnover for smooth and efficient service.
- Attendance: reports to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work. Wears and maintains all uniforms properly, including nametag. Must wear a gaming license if in possession of one.
- Perform all duties in compliance with safety standards, health standards, the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, and internal policies and procedures. Complies with established security policies and procedures.
- Completes sidework, balances drawer at shift end, and assists bussing tables as needed.
- Maintains alertness for the performance of duties and a general awareness of restaurant operations at all times. Keeps the supervisor informed of any concerns.
- Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
