Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patient.Essential Functions:Performs complete study including real time, 2D- M-Mode, Color Flow Mapping, Doppler, Trans-Esophageal, Stress Echo.Obtains permanent records of examination.Contributes professional knowledge via sonographer worksheet and verbal communication with cardiologist.Daily Record of Report Timeliness.Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards.Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.Prepares patients for examination and explains procedure to patients while performing studies.Correlates clinical history with the test to be performed.Maintains work area.Performs all other duties as assigned.
