We are a global team focused on disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation for all stakeholders, who care deeply about our impact on communities and the wider world.OverviewWe're looking for a seasoned and driven Senior Underwriter to join our West Region Risk Management team as an Assistant Vice President. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about building strong broker relationships and underwriting complex primary casualty risks.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Use your underwriting authority to evaluate and price business across Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability, and Commercial Auto Liability, while staying aligned with Everest's underwriting guidelines.Build and maintain broker relationships throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and the Northwest, with a focus on primary casualty business.Help shape and execute business strategies that drive submission flow and bind profitable business.Partner closely with teams across the organization-including marketing & distribution, actuary, claims, loss control, premium audit, and legal-to develop and maintain a strong portfolio of primary casualty placements.Qualifications, Education & Experience:A college degree is preferred, along with 10+ years of experience underwriting primary casualty insurance.Professional designations such as CPCU, CRIS, or ARM are a plus.Experience working with a variety of program structures-from guaranteed cost to large deductibles and captive programs.Established relationships with West Region brokers and/or direct clients in the primary casualty space.Strong presentation, communication, and business development skills.The base salary range for this position is $150,000- $220,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
